Term 6

Week 2

Our best highlight of the week is our trip to Windmill Hill city farm.  We went there to learn more about healthy eating which is part of our Science topic.  We went around the farm and tried some of the plants such as calendula and sorrel.  We then went in to the outdoor kitchen to chop and slice the vegetables - broadbeans, spinach, rainbow chard and sugar snap peas.  All this lovely veg went in to a tasty noodle stir fry which we ate together.  Whilst at the farm we had a chance to stroke a 5 day old chick, feed the goats and see the turkeys and cows. We had a wonderful time.

We have also begun learning a new story - The Papaya That Spoke, which is a fun tale of a hungry man who think food and animals can talk!!!

The weather has been hot, but we have stayed cool, thanks to the kindness of Barnaby, who brought in some refreshing fruit for us today - Thank you Barnaby!

Week 1

This has got to be our busiest first week back ever!!!!

On Monday we made fruit kebabs because we are learning about healthy eating. Then a few days later we wrote the instructions of how to make our fruit kebabs. - Arthur

In Maths, we have been measuring using rulers and metre sticks. We measured books using a ruler and then we went outside and we measured how far we could throw a beanbag using our metre sticks. Zubair threw his bean bag 7m! - Joey

In computers we were coding on the iPads. We had to first debug the program to fix it and then we made our own code. We had to code the Harvester so she could pick her corn. - Omar

Today we went on a trip to a different school to sing. I got to sing at the front, 'Who stole my chicken's and my hens'. Logan used a shaky egg, Aleah played a maraca and Joey used a tamborine. We had to sing with another school. - Rahma
