Term 6

WC 28.6.22

This week we have been doing lots of computing! We made our own short animations using the stop motion app on the IPADs, which was great fun! We have also been learning the vocabulary associated with coding such as 'algorithm'. We played a very popular 'Angry Birds' game that require us to use code to guide a bird to a pig, through a maze. See photos below

WC 20.6.22

Here is what the children have to say about their learning!

"I really liked the trip to Trinity Academy because when we arrived I've never been to such a big open place!. We started playing music and it was loads of fun!" (Trio at the beginning of term) - William

"I liked learning about sea-side safety because we got given a poster and we had to spot all the dangers." - Louie

"In maths, we have been learning more about fractions." - Yasir

"I liked Maths because it was was tricky, but fun!" - Saoirse

"I really liked playing benchball on Wednesday...I liked going on the bench!" - Nathaniel

"This week I enjoyed planning a newspaper report about The Iron Man." - Minna

"I liked writing about the angry farmers in the Iron Man!" - Taio

"In PSHE we learned about changes in babies and how they grow to be more independent." - Aryan

We also looked at how babies develop in the womb and Rubin asked a great question: "If a baby was upside down, wouldn't the baby feint? The blood would rush to its head!" We discussed how babies receive nutrients and oxygen through the umbilical cord that attaches them to their mother and that this forms our belly buttons when cut.

"In geography we learned about Hastings and Braemar." - Angelo

"The difference bewteen Hastings  and Braemar is that Hastings touches the water, but Braemar is surrounded by land." - Ted

We also used Google Earth to explore Hastings and Braemar. Our Geography question this term is "Is life easier in the mountains or by the coast. If you have time at the weekend have a look at these two places and see if you can find out any other interesting facts about them!

Have a super weekend.

Mr Hewett and 3 Larch

Welcome back to the final term of school. PE days have stayed the same this term (Tuesday and Weds). We will continue to learn violin each Tuesday this term. In Science we will continue to learn about forces and magnets. Our key text for English is 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes.

We had an exciting trip to Trinity Academy in Lockleaze and the children enjoyed performing alongside pupils from Horfield Primary School.
