Term 6

1.7.22 Computing

WC 28.6.22

This week we have been doing lots of computing! We made our own short animations using the stop motion app on the IPADs, which was great fun! We have also been learning the vocabulary associated with coding such as 'algorithm'. We played a very popular 'Angry Birds' game that require us to use code to guide a bird to a pig, through a maze. See photos below

Life Skills

Today we learnt about water safety. We had a quiz about spotting the dangers at the beach. We had to find 15 dangers! Next we learnt about the coloured flags at the beach. A red flag means no swimming. You must swim between red and yellow flags. Black and white flags mean this is an area for surfers. Then we watched a you tube video about the RNLI. Finally, we worked with a talk partner and created a Water Safety poster. 3 Juniper.

Have a great weekend everybody!

In tennis we have been learning how to control the tennis ball and do cool tricks! Emilia

In Science we did an investigation to see which materials are magnetic and which materials are

non-magnetic. Dilys

In tennis we have been learning how to control the tennis ball on our racket and keep the ball in the middle of the racket and walk and run at the same time. Rimes

In Science we connected one magnet to another and that is called a magnetic force and I think that is cool. Mercy.

In Science we also learnt how strong magnets can be by carrying out an investigation using paperclips, rulers and masking tape. Isabella G.

Welcome back to the final term of school. PE days have stayed the same this term (Tuesday and Weds). We will continue to learn violin each Tuesday this term. In Science we will continue to learn about forces and magnets. Our key text for English is 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes.

We had an exciting trip to Trinity Academy in Lockleaze and the children enjoyed performing alongside pupils from Horfield Primary School.
