Welcome back to Term 6!
We hope you all have enjoyed a lovely break. The children have been super busy this week with their learning! Well done 2WB!
Myra: This week, I have really enjoyed learning in English. First, we made yummy fruit kebabs and wrote an instruction on how to make the fruit kebabs… (and yes we ate the kebabs in the park!)
Louie: In Science, we looked at different types of food. Did you know that we need to have a balanced diet to keep ourselves healthy?
Rubin: In maths, we have used concrete resources to weigh the mass of different objects. I really enjoyed it!
Mercy: During SMR book day, we had a big parade with the whole school. We designed our favourite book covers and made comic strips.

On Wednesday, we went to the farm to cook alternative snacks and cook healthy food – Angelo and Saoirse
In maths, we have been learning about capacity and volume. Did you know the difference between capacity and volume is that capacity is the amount of something it can hold and volume is the amount of space it has used! Ted X2
In English, we have been learning how to write a recount of our trip to the farm – Ta’shiyah
In science, we have been learning about healthy food and non-healthy food and we made a healthy balanced lunchbox! Aqua
In RE, we have been looking at the parable ‘The Lost Son’. Did you know that God represents the father, and the Son represents us. God is always loving and always forgiving. – Llewyn
In Topic, we have been learning about the four countries in the United Kingdom. We included the capital cities as well as human and physical features. – Aryan.

Today, we learnt about the 4 emergency services, who to dial and what to do in an emergency. We leant basic first aid and putting someone in the recovery position. Did you know putting someone in the recovery position will keep their airway clear and open?
The Art of Science Competition 2021
The theme for this year is SPACE, whether you want to escape to outer space, to a favourite space inside your home, or outside in nature - it's up to you! You can draw, paint, take a photo of a sculpture you have made, or upload a short video (2 min maximum) -the choice is yours!
The main thing is for you to have fun! There are 3 categories, age 4-7, age 8-11 and age 12-16, with the opportunity to win a prize! Don't forget to give your artwork a title. Ask your teachers to send it to Miss Ali.

William: In Maths we have been learning about how to read scales and today we even used thermometers!
Saoirse: In Science, we have been keeping fit and healthy. Did you know if you do lots of exercise you will sleep better and your body will stay healthy!
Myra: In English, we have been retelling the story "The Papaya that Spoke". We used actions and created our own story map!
Aryan & Yasir: In RE we have continued to learn about the Lost Son. We thought about different prayers that the lost son could have made.
Emilia & Rowan: In topic we have been learning about where food comes from. Did you know that milk goes through a long process before it gets to you?

Another week of fabulous learning from 2 Whitebeam!
Varuni and William: In English we have been retelling our story ‘The papaya that spoke’ and we began planning our innovated story of ' The Papaya that spoke!
Dilys: In maths, we have been learning how to read time. Our focus was looking at ‘o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to’.
Anaya – In science we have been learning about hygiene. We did an experiment to see how easily germs spread!
Ted S, George and Ted P – In Topic we have been making our very own cloud finder. Did you know that different clouds can mean different weather…?
Isabella – In RE we have been learning the story ‘Jonah and the Whale’ We acted out the story!
